18 carat gold repeater watch made by Ellicott and Taylor, serial no. 9061 with calendar mechanism, 1806-1807. Carried by Captain Samuel Taylor Popham of the 28th (North Gloucestershire) Regiment whilst a P.O.W. in French hands during the Peninsular War.
